In the present research study, it was verified how the use of photovoltaic solar energy is related to the sustainable development of rural áreas of the district of Pitumarca, Canchis Región-Cusco 2018, in which the objective is to evaluate the use of photovoltaic solar energy to generate sustainable development in rural áreas of the district of Pitumarca, Canchis Región-Cusco 2018. The sample is made up of 8 peasant communities of the district of Pitumarca, belonging to the Arasaire ethnic group, selecting as a non-probabilistic sample the Chillca peasant community for the development of field work, which is made up of 52 family groups, of those surveyed, 60% were men and 40% women. The method used was the hypothetical deductive method, and the type and design of the study, descriptive, correlational and prospective, the results being in their social dimension: they do not have basic services, the literacy rate being 65%, the supply of services health lacks serious limitations, the monthly income per family is 200 soles, economic dimension: agricultural production is for self-consumption, because its fields do not have an irrigation system, livestock production is based on the raising of alpacas obtaining Alpaca fiber as a primary product, which is marketed under the barter system, environmental dimension: with photovoltaic solar systems the emission into the atmosphere of 45,784 tons of CO2 per year will be avoided, as a most relevant conclusion, various important activities were identified , which allows to suggest general guidelines for the sustainable rural development of rural áreas classified by sectors, such as: domestic sector, agricultural and livestock sector, agribusiness sector and rural services and community services sector, the same ones that require electricity for their development.
