The present work entitled: “CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ANEMIA AND ADMINISTRATION OF POLYMALTOSED IRON IN CHILDREN UNDER ONE YEAR IN THE SANTA ROSA CUSCO HEALTH CENTER 2019“. The objective of this study was to identify the characteristics of anemia and the administration of polymaltosed iron in children under one year of age at the Santa Rosa Cusco Health Center, 2019. The methodological design used in this research was descriptive, transversal, and retrospective. The population consisted of children from the Santa Rosa Cusco 2019 Health Center, the sample consisted of 250 medical records. The technique used was observation and the instrument was the documentary observation guide. The conclusions within the characteristics of anemia were: 66.3% mild anemia, 28.7% moderate, 5% severe; 56.25%, diagnosed between 6 to 8 months, 33.75% at 8 to 10 months, 10%, 10 to 12 months; signs and symptoms 37.5% pale skin, 25% fatigue 12.5 cold hands and feet, 12.5% geophagia, final anemia 86.3 treatment in progress, and 13.8% are cured. Regarding the characteristics of the administration of polymaltose iron: 30% consumed from 4 months 25%, 3 to 5, and 20%, 6 months, the administration of polymaltic iron 80% once a day, the foods with which polymaltose iron is administered, 62.5% only the product, 28.75 with water and 8.75% with meals, adverse reactions to polymaltose iron supplement, 37.5% coloration in stools, 26.25% constipation , 23.75 sensation of digestive fullness and 12.5% tooth pigmentation, time of iron administration 82.5% mornings 10 am, 12.5% in the morning with breakfast, 3.75% at noon with lunch and 1.25% at night with lunch, presentation of 100% polymaltosed iron, its form of presentation is in drops 50mgr/ 20ml, the administration dose of polymaltosed iron 62.5% consumes 5 to 8 drops, 6.3 % from 16 to 20 drops, 21.3% from 9 to 10 drops and 10% from 11 to 15 drops, follow-up of administrative treatment for anemia 71.3% child s with anemia are still in treatment, 16.3% abandoned treatment, 12.5% complied with treatment.
