The purpose of this research was to standardize the operating process by studying times with a stopwatch so that the company uses this tool to improve its processes. At the beginning, the problem of the research was determined by conversations with the CEO of EPS SEDACUSCO S.A. and the Chief of the Treatment Plant, who saw the need to know the activities carried out by their workers and the time necessary to finish them out. With the results of the research, it was possible to deliver recommendations to the company, in order that they can control and improve their operating process. The methodology of the time study was followed to determine the steps to follow in the research, which consisted of carrying out a previous study to standardize the activities and with this information perform the measurement to obtain the standard time necessary to complete each activity. Through observation and prior study, the activities of the operational process were determined, which are a total of 16 operations, 9 in the operations area and 7 in the laboratory area. A division of the operations area was made that includes Operators with 5 activities and 13 disaggregated elements, in the case of Operator Support, 3 activities and 11 elements were determined, Operators Assistant 1 activity and 3 elements. For the Laboratory area, in the dept. of physicochemical 4 activities, 53 elements and in the dept. Biology 3 activities and 19 activities Finally, the normal and standard times were obtained in the context of two areas that we studied and consequently the disaggregation of activities.
