Objective: The objective of this research was to determine the level of knowledge about oral health in pregnant women attending the Belempampa Health Center in the district of Santiago, Cusco-2017. Material and Methods: This research study is quantitative, descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional, non-experimental; The population was formed by the pregnant patients that come to their controls in the health centers of Belempampa of the district of Santiago of the department of Cusco that make a total of 756 pregnant women in a year according to data of the regional direction of health of the Cusco in period 2016. For the sample size, a 95% confidence level was taken with a corresponding Z value of 1.96, with a maximum error of estimation of 5% and the formula for finite populations was used, making a total of 255 pregnant women. The technique was the survey and the instrument the questionnaire which was validated by expert criterion having a total adequacy with a Cronbach alpha of 0.729, being acceptable for each one of the items. The place where it was performed was the obstetrics services where first the informed consent was requested was explained on the subject and filling of the questionnaire. A descriptive analysis of the variables was done and for the association between the qualitative variables, the chi-square statistic was used, working at a significance level of 0.05, for which the statistical package SPSS 24 was used. Results: The level of knowledge about oral health in pregnant women showed that the highest percentage had a regular level (66.3%), followed by the bad level (26.3%) and the lowest percentage was the good level with 7.5%. According to their dimensions it was found that the level of knowledge about preventive measures was good (48.6%), knowledge about oral diseases, dental care, dental development was poor (41.6%, 80.0%, 77.6%). Conclusions: The level of knowledge about oral health in pregnant women was regular.
