The objective of this research is to comparatively analyze the physical-mechanical and photocatalytic properties of pattern tiles and tiles with the addition of 3%,5%,7% titanium dioxide in the Piñipampa district. The tiles were made by hand in the district of Piñipampa-Cusco, using the raw material, clay from Piñipampa, sand from the Vilcanota River and water from the area. To carry out the tests, a total of 112 tiles had to be made, of which 28 are pattern tiles, 28 tiles with 3% addition of titanium dioxide, 28 tiles with the addition of 5% titanium dioxide and 28 tiles with the addition of 7% titanium dioxide, which were subjected to tests of dimensional variability, water absorption, permeability, bending resistance and photocatalysis. For this, the INEN 986, INEN 989, INEN 988, UNE-EN 539-1 standards were used. All the tests developed in this research were developed in the soil and asphalt laboratory of the Andean University of Cusco. The handmade tiles with titanium dioxide showed results of water absorption and permeability, within the parameters of the technical standards, it is also observed that the greater the addition of titanium dioxide, the lower the percentage of absorption and greater permeability, in terms of the resistance test. in bending, they obtained values lower than the minimum required by the standard, however the results suggest that the tiles with a 5% addition of titanium dioxide are the ones that present the best results in the majority of the laboratory tests carried out.
