The considerable vehicular increase that is seen over the years in our imperial city and around the world is worrying, so the main urban and social problem we have in the main arteries of our city is the traffic congestion being important requirement evaluation, road and urban planning in our avenues. This research aims to determine the level of vehicular service on the roads of Manco Capac and Huayruropata Avenue at its different intersection points (Manco Inca, Huayna Capac, Tacna Avenue, Jr. Retiro, Ramon Castillo or Jiron Anta, Jiron Espinar and La Verdad) in the district of Wánchaq, province of Cusco 2021 using the HCM 2016 methodology for this purpose. As the main procedural part of the research, a vehicle gauging was carried out to determine the traffic conditions at the aforementioned intersections, considering the hours of peak demand. Likewise, a topographic survey was performed in order to know the geometric design of the roads under evaluation. An inventory was also made of the roads under analysis to determine the traffic signal characteristics and existing signaling at each intersection. With all the previous reports collected, data processing was performed. The Synchro 11.0 program was used as a real-time simulator of the aforementioned intersections, considering that the program has incorporated the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM 2016) and thus calculate the level of service at each of them. A 5-year future traffic volume projection was made for the intersections under evaluation. With this data obtained, we proceeded to simulate again in the Synchro 11.0 program, obtaining in the same way the level of service at each of the intersections. A total of 4 scenarios were obtained (real, real projected to 5 years, optimized, optimized projected to 5 years), the results obtained for the scenarios analyzed are as follows: For the simulation in real time it was verified that in some of the intersections the level of service, delays, volume / capacity ratio, ICU% is terrible which improved radically as a result of an optimization and traffic lights performed in each of the intersections. The projection of vehicular volume showed a considerable increase in vehicular traffic, again verifying poor levels of service at three intersections despite the optimizations and traffic lights performed, reaching the conclusion that in the future the creation of alternative routes or new road infrastructure should be carried out.
