The present research its titled as “parents competences perceived by 5th and 6th grade primary school students from I.E. Fe y Alegría N°21 in San Jeronimo – 2021”, which planted as objective describe the parents’ competences perceived by 5th and 6th grade primary school students from I.E. Fe y Alegría N°21 in San Jeronimo, 2021. The methodology was a non- experimental research, with a simple descriptive design. With a non-probabilistic population type for convenience of 196 students, The Perceived Parental Competence Scale (ECPP-h) (children version) was used to collect data of Hernández y Bayot. The results presented in relation to dimensions of the research that the parental involvement presents a high level, on the contrary of the disciplinary consistency dimension which presents a low level, in addition the students perceived the parental competences of their parents in a medium level, indicating that said perception it is not affected for the different functionality factors in communication or affectivity, and it may improve with the correct orientation for parents and students. In relation to the gender of the students or the instructional level of the parents, there were not significant differences in the perception levels of parental competences. In conclusion, the presence of high levels of parental implications demonstrates that independently of the kind of family which the parents are from, these ones show interest in the academic studies of their children. That is why the difficulties they present at the moment to impart discipline and standards of conduct to their children must be consider.
