The study aimed to propose an appropriate solid waste management plan for the Máximo San Román educational institution in Calca, Cusco - 2023, using a descriptive- propositional scope and a non-experimental quantitative design. The research was carried out with objectivity and included the student, teaching and administrative staff of the educational institution, totaling 480 members. Technical abbreviations were defined upon first use and the text adhered to conventional academic structure and clear, formal language. The sample size consisted of 206 participants, with 195 students, 9 teachers, and 2 administrative staff selected through stratified random sampling. Data collection methods included observation and surveys with the use of observation sheets and questionnaires. The characterization results demonstrate that the educational center produces 102.38 kilograms of solid waste per week. The Per Capita Generation is 0.043 kilograms per person per day, with an average density of 251.58 kilograms per cubic meter. Most of the waste consists of inorganic materials and originates outside the classrooms, accounting for 65% of the total waste. On the other hand, 57% of the members of the educational community have a level of knowledge in solid waste management, although 47.6% and 31.1% show high and very high sensitivity to the issue. In conclusion, the research allowed us to recognize that the Máximo San Román educational institution requires a plan that allows it to properly manage solid waste.
