The present research work was carried out in the locality of Caritá, district of Huasahuasi, province of Tarma, Junín Region, at 3260 meters above sea level; from February to May 2000 in loam soil with pH 4.3, CIC 6. 06 meq/100g of soil, where the pea varieties Arkel, Protor, Marrowfat, Tarma, Utrillo, Rondo, Jumbo, Eminent and Remate were evaluated with the objectives of evaluating the agronomic performance of the nine varieties for green harvesting and determining the profitability of the evaluated treatments. The experiment was set up under a randomized complete block design with nine treatments distributed in three replications. The variables evaluated were: number of grains per pod, green pea pod length, plant height, number of pods per plant, yield and profitability, it was found that the Tarma variety showed better agronomic performance and profitability, with a yield of 21692 Kg/ha of green peas, likewise it has the highest average number of grains per pod 8. 84, greater average pod length 14.29 cm compared to the other varieties, followed by Utrillo with a yield of 18377 kg/ha and a profitability of 54.28%; therefore, the Tarma and Utrillo varieties are the varieties with the best agronomic qualities and profitability. In addition, it was found that the varieties Tarma, Utrillo and Jumbo showed the highest number of grains per pod 8.84, 8.58 and 8.47 respectively, Remate showed the highest average plant height 105.17 cm, the varieties Eminent, Arkel and Marrowfat showed the highest number of pods per plant 18.83, 18.81 and 17.83 respectively. Finally, it was found that the local conditions, especially the soil, favored good yield and profitability in the different varieties.
