The purpose of this research is to diagnose deficiencies in the drinking water system of the National Agrarian University La Molina. The low capacity of the system and lack of water within the University campus is a constant problem, which is caused by the low flow of water available at the source of the resource, because the offer of water is basically collected of the water borehole, which is called "pozo Chino 2”. Another reason the age of the water network and the state of the pipes that generates water leakages, as well as, the low storage capacity and low maintenance that is given to the water reservoir of “pozo Chino 2”, which is the main and only storage of water. Likewise, the poor water quality of “pozo Chino 2” causes corrosion problems in the pipes, that forces laboratories, production centers are using water distribution systems, water purchases in tanks and drums. Finally, the continuous growth of the population increases the demand for water, which generates a water deficit until other sources of water will be implemented. Based on what has been described above, proposals were developed at the level of quality, quantity, innovation and water saving, such as the implementation of a Water Treatment Plant in the collection, installation of drinking fountains at the UNALM, installation of new connections to the water network, development of a new hydrogeological study that allows to know the possible exploitation zones, improvement of the conditions of exploitation of the current source, to evaluate in its totality the water system, change of deteriorated pipes and raising the population of the UNALM awareness on water care.
