The next research was completed on the microwatershed of the Atuen river belonging to the watershed of the Utcubamba River on the Amazon region, to know erosion problems the microwatershed. The work was done using a geospatial model with the use of the benefits of GIS (Geographic Information System) for the identification of vulnerable areas, according the degree of intensity within the field of study; then was quantified using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE), (Wischmeier and Smith 1968). Finally, possible alternatives of protection and conservation to areas affected by water erosion were proposed. The study consisted in the gathering of information, digital as well as physical, were required thematic information such as land cover, soil, rainfall, physiography, geology, slope classified and socioeconomic information, so a visit to the area of study was conducted to obtain information on unmet basic needs, economic activities performed and an on-site recognition of the area. With the information obtained and with the help of the GIS, first, the digital processing of satellite images was performed and geospatial modeling consisting of the interrelationship of physical, biotic and social part, giving it a rating and weighting to each unit of the variables according to the degree of incidence presented for study; secondly, we proceeded to the realization of the quantized model, with each of the variables involved to model USLE equation. Culminating the procedure; it was observed, that the erosive areas with higher incidences are found in the highest areas of the territory and the riverbanks; it in turn, have low socioeconomic levels.
