The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of tara endosperm (TE) and guar gum (GG) on the intestinal morphometry and productive behaviour of male broilers from 1 to 21 days of age. Ninety-six 1-day-old male Cobb 500 broilers fed ad libitum and randomly distributed were used. Three treatments with four replicates per treatment were used, with eight in each experimental unit. Treatment I (T1) or control diet; Treatment II (T2), diet with 0.1% GT and Treatment III (T3), diet with 0.1% GG. In the results obtained at 21 days, there were no statistically significant differences with respect to the analysis of intestinal morphometry, however, for the height of villi, T2 had the best result and the lowest standard deviation. Regarding the productive results (live weight, weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion) only in feed conversion (FC) significant differences were found between T1: 1.29 and T3: 1.41. It is concluded that the GT diet stimulates the development of villi and the utilisation of nutrients, while the GG had no effect on intestinal morphometry and a higher CA was observed with respect to the control diet.
