Apparent digestibility coefficients (ADCs) of corn was determined for paiche (Arapaima gigas), a Neotropical fish species with great aquaculture potential in the Amazon. ADCs of dry matter, crude protein, crude lipid y gross energy were determined by feces sedimentation in conical-bottom aquarium. Experimental diets were composed of 595 g kg-1 of the reference diet, 5 g kg-1 of chromic oxide and 400 g kg-1 of corn. The ADCs for dry matter, crude protein, crude lipid and gross energy were 71.00 percent, 89.12, 93.78 and 76.97 respectively, resulted in high ADCs for pirarucu, indicating that this ingredient may be potential energy sources in feed formulations for paiche. The digestible energy obtained was 3.43 Mcal kg-1.
