The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of two energy levels and three protein to energy ratios in diets for juvenile paco (Piaractus brachypomus) through the measurement of the main productive, body composition and economic parameters. A total of 54 juvenile paco were used, obtained from "Fundo Palmeiras" fishing station, Satipo - Junín. Six experimental diets were formulated with 2 energy levels (3.2 and 3.4 Mcal ED/kg) and 3 protein to energy ratios (90, 100 and 110 g Pt/Mcal ED) using linear programming at minimum cost. The fish were fed the experimental diets under a 2 x 3 factorial design. The energy level 3.4 Mcal ED/Kg showed the best values for the parameters weight, weight gain, feed conversion ratio, specific growth rate and energy productive value. Numerically, the diet with 3.4 Mcal/Kg and a ratio of 100 g Pt/Mcal ED reduced the feed conversion ratio by 21% and decreased the cost of feeding per kilogram of weight by 13%.
