Late blight is caused by the oomycete Phytophthora infestans Mont.de Bary, and it is one of the most destructive diseases of potato crop faced by the Peruvian farmers. The genetic breeding programs are geared towards to constant search for new genes that could allow potato crop to defend itself from many pathogens that could compromise yields and the farmer´s economy. This search is mainly carried out in wild potato species, which have a great diversity of genotypes that can be useful to develop resistant varieties. In order to screen the susceptible levels to late blight, 57 wild potato accessions preserved by the International Potato Center (CIP) were evaluated in a series of 9 continuous trails under greenhouse conditions in Lima, Perú. Plants from each accession were inoculated with the isolate POX 067 of Phythophthora infestans, isolation that belongs to the clonal linage EC1, which is dominant in the country. Four improved varieties were used as controls: Chucmarina and Kausay (resistant); Pallay Poncho (moderately resistant) and Yungay (susceptible). The relative AUDPC (rAUDPC) and the value on the susceptible scale proposed by Yuen and Forbes (2009) were determined. Six species with high levels of resistance were identified, which have little to no previous report, as Solanum albornozii, S. lesteri, S. longiconicum, S. morelliforme, S. stenophyllidium and S. tarnii.
