The objective of this thesis, it was sought to determine the highest yield of the potato crop with water restrictions, for that purpose, six experiments were carried out where the application of Partial Root-zone Drying (PRD) was studied in the single variety potato crop, through the drip irrigation system. In the first experiment, the shape and dimension of the furrow with hilling in a sandy loam soil were defined. In the second and third experiment, the (PRD) was applied, using irrigation tapes and 16 mm polyethylene hoses with emitters of 1.0 and 1.6 l h -1 with a 30cm separation between drippers. Two treatments were worked: a control (T1) with an irrigation sheet at 100 percent of the crop water need (Etc), and the PRD system (T2) with a sheet of 70 percent of the (ETc) distributed in a completely randomized design. In the fourth experiment, the effect of the arrangement of irrigation laterals on potato yield was evaluated, using PRD, replacing water sheets of 100 and 50 percent of the (ETc). In the experiment 5, the coefficient (Kc) of the potato was determined, using drainage lysimeter. In the experiment 6, the effect of organic matter and PRD was evaluated. The yields obtained for the controls oscillate between 40 to 64 t ha-1 and for the PRD ones vary between 24 to 61 t ha-1 , respectively, with irrigation sheets that vary for the controls between 165,1 to 193,234 mm and for the PRD between 82,8 to 129,1mm. The PRD increased the efficiency of water use by 23.7 percent. In addition, yield curve - volume of water for the potato crop was determined: Y=0,0001X3+0,3563X2 - 331,16X+11162,1 where X represents the volume of water used and Y the yield with R2 of 0,7
