The objective of the study was to determine the productive and reproductive parameters of grazing Holstein cows in the provinces of Cotopaxi (C) and Tungurahua (T) of Ecuador, based on the retrospective records of the period 1996-2005 (EI) and 2006-2015 (EII). We analyzed 11,382 records of cows from the Ecuadorian Holstein (HE), Pure Holstein (HP) and pure Holstein by crossing (HPPC) for the period 1996-2015, belonging to 59 herds affiliated to the Holstein Friesian Association of Ecuador, 46 of Cotopaxi and 13 of Tungurahua. The variables studied were actual milk production (PL); production of milk adjusted to 305 days (PLA); daily average of milk (LD); duration of breastfeeding (DL); age at first birth (EPP); interval between births (IPP); Dry period (PS); number of births (NP); milk index (IL) and accumulated milk index (ILA). The data were analyzed using ANOVA, considering the variables provenance, epoch, and biotypes, comparing the means by the Tukey test, for productive and reproductive variables, and Waller Duncan (P0,05) between PLA with EPP, IPP, PS and NP. The highest IL and ILA were for Cotopaxi cows (8.4 and 17.8) and for Epoch II cows (8.2 and 18.8). It is concluded that the productivity of Holstein cows is different between the analyzed provinces, being Cotopaxi superior in the productive variables, and like the other reproductive.
