The hard yellow corn crop in Peru is increasingly demanded, but this demand us mostly satisfied by importations, due to lower production costs, harming the local farmer. For that reason, this research is based on the use of the GreenSeeker optical sensor to dose the second nitrogen fertilization of the hard yellow corn crop, variety DK-7088, using the Oklahoma University’s protocol. The formula obtained specifically for the Peruvian central coast was used in a field at the Fundo Agricola of the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina in winter sowing, from the NDVI measurements the INSEY index generates nitrogen doses for the treatments. The doses were recommended between 0 kg/ha to 5.12 kg/ha of urea, the most widely used nitrogenous fertilizer. The yields did not present significant differences, this proves that the use of the GreenSeeker homogenizes the yields whose values were between 7.7 t/ha to 8.75 t/ha. Due to the savings in the use of fertilizer and labor, the profitability of the crop increased between 19.3 and 25.9 percent in different regions of Lima’s province.
