Objective: to determine the microbiological quality of eye shadows from the Santa Catalina shopping center in downtown Lima. Materials and Methods: a quantitative approach was employed, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design and descriptive scope. Microbiological analysis was conducted following the guidelines established by the FDA and Peruvian Technical Standard (NTP). A total of 15 samples from various brands were collected, where total mesophilic aerobic bacteria were identified on Tryptone Soy Agar (TSA), along with the investigation of Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa on selective media. Results: the results showed the presence of total mesophilic aerobes within the allowed limit in 40% of the analyzed samples. Thus, 100% of the mesophilic aerobic bacteria counts were within specifications according to national regulations. Moreover, the pathogenic microorganisms Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were absent in all samples. Conclusions: in general, the eye shadows from the Santa Catalina shopping center in downtown Lima meet the microbiological quality standards permitted by the Peruvian Technical Standard (NTP) and the Andean Community of Nations (5x10² CFU/g). It is essential to adhere to these controls to safeguard public health and ensure the quality.
