Objective: to determine the level of knowledge about the human immunodeficiency virus in adolescents who attend the Vermell – Lurín 2024 Polyclinic. Materials and methods: a quantitative approach, a non- experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive design was used. The population was adolescents who attend the polyclinic, taking 108 participants as a sample. The technique was the survey and the instrument was the questionnaire "Knowledge about HIV" Results: the findings found during the study showed that the level of knowledge about the Human Immunodeficiency Virus was mostly intermediate level (53.7%) followed by low level (43.5%) and high level (2.8%). In the phases dimension of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, most have a high level (66.7%), followed by low level (33.3%) and a regular level (0.0%). In the dimension of forms of transmission of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, the majority had a regular level (38.0%) followed by a low level (36.1%) and a high level (25.3%). In the dimension of symptoms of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, the low level predominated (43.5%), followed by the regular level (42.5%) and finally the high level (13.9%). In the dimension of preventive forms of HIV, the majority had a low level (46.3%), followed by the regular level (38.9%) and a high level (14.8%). Conclusions: the level of knowledge about the Human Immunodeficiency Virus in adolescents was mostly a regular level followed by the low level and the high level.
