Objective: to determine the level of knowledge on the prevention of childhood anemia in mothers of children under 5 years of age attending the Desiderio Moscoso Castillo Health Post, San Juan de Miraflores, 2024. Materials and methods: a quantitative approach was used, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive design. The sample consisted of 49 mothers of children under 5 years of age attending the Desiderio Moscoso Castillo Health Care Center, selected by census, non-probabilistic by convenience. The instrument was a structured questionnaire. Results: the level of knowledge about the prevention of childhood anemia in the participating mothers was mostly medium, with 42.86 %, followed by high, with 34.69 %, and low, with 22.45 %. In the dimension of general aspects, the medium level of knowledge predominated, with 40.82 %, while in the dimension of preventive practices, the majority of mothers presented a low level, with 61.22 %. Conclusions: the study reveals that, although the majority of mothers have a medium level of knowledge about the general aspects of childhood anemia, there is a low level of knowledge in relation to preventive practices.
