Objective: determine the level of knowledge about newborn care in adolescent mothers cared for at the Santa Anita Maternal and Child Center in Lima, 2024. Materials and methods: a quantitative approach was used with a non-experimental cross-sectional and descriptive design. The population and sample were 40 adolescent mothers treated at the CMI Santa Anita. The instrument was a valid and reliable questionnaire. Results: it was found that the level of knowledge about newborn care of adolescent mothers is mostly medium level (52.50%), followed by low level (40.00%) and high level (7.50%). In the food dimension, low level knowledge predominated (47.50%), followed by medium level (40.00%) and high level (12.50%). Regarding thermoregulation, knowledge was mostly low (47.50%), followed by medium level (32.50%) and high level (20.00%). In the bathroom and hygiene dimension, the medium level predominated (50.00%), followed by high level (27.50%) and low level (22.50%). Regarding sleep and rest, both low and medium levels were predominant (47.50% each), with only 5.00% showing a high level. Finally, in the dimension of warning signs, knowledge was also at a low and medium level (40.00% each), followed by a high level (20.00%). In the bathroom and hygiene dimension, the medium level predominated (50.00%), followed by high level (27.50%) and low level (22.50%). Regarding sleep and rest, both low and medium levels were predominant (47.50% each), with only 5.00% showing a high level.” Finally, in the dimension of warning signs, knowledge was also at a low and medium level (40.00% each), followed by a high level (20.00%). Conclusions: Adolescent mothers present mostly medium and low knowledge about newborn care.
