Objective: the purpose of this study is “to establish the relationship between quality of care and satisfaction of patients' relatives in the intensive care unit of Jaen Hospital, 2024”. Materials and methods: this research will adopt a quantitative approach, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design. The sample will be composed of 50 direct relatives of patients admitted to the intensive care unit, selected according to previously defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. A key criterion is that only those relatives who are directly responsible for the patient will participate. Two instruments will be used: previously elaborated and validated questionnaires measuring nursing care quality (14 items) and family member satisfaction (10 items); both instruments have demonstrated adequate reliability, with a KR-20 coefficient of 0.88 and KR -20 of 0.82 respectively. Data collection will be carried out between June and August. Results: the data obtained will be analyzed and presented in the form of statistical tables and graphs. Conclusions: this study will provide valuable information that may contribute to improve the care and attention of both the patient and his family, in addition to serving as a guiding model for future research.
