The family and the school combine functions and efforts based on good and with an ethical character to achieve the solid and moral formation of an individual. This alloy makes good development possible on a personal level, which is why the general objective was to determine the relationship between parenting styles and academic self-efficacy in students of a private educational institution, Chiclayo 2023. Two instruments were used: Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale Specific to Academic Situations and Steinberg Parenting Styles Scale, was applied collectively and in person. This research is quantitative, non-experimental design. Regarding the sample, the participants in this research were second grade high school students, using probability sampling, with a total of 122 students. It was obtained that there is no relationship between the variables. In the male sex, the permissive parenting style predominates, unlike in the female sex, where the authoritative parenting style prevails. Males have a greater prevalence at the medium level of academic self-efficacy, as opposed to females who are at a low level. There is no relationship between the dimension commitment, psychological autonomy and behavioral control, belonging to parenting styles with academic self-efficacy. In conclusion, the variables are independent of each other.
