The unplanned pregnancy in adolescents has increased in the last five years, and it’s therefore essential to know the factors that influence the problem, so that not only the population aged 12-17 years is aware of the problem, but also society as a whole. The general objective of the study was to determine the risk factors associated with unplanned pregnancy in pregnant adolescents in a hospital in Lambayeque, 2022, and specifically to identify the personal and socio-cultural risk factors associated with unplanned pregnancy in pregnant adolescents. The study had a descriptive, quantitative, non-experimental design, with a sample of 85 pregnant adolescents aged 12 to 17 years. The questionnaire on the risk factors that influence adolescent pregnancy was used and the results showed that the personal and socio-cultural risk factors in terms of age, most of the pregnant women were between 16 and 17 years of age, had been educated up to secondary school level, currently live with their partners and work at home, and also come from low-income families, lack information and guidance on sex education from their peers and do not have a life project. It is concluded that the risk factors associated with unplanned pregnancy in pregnant adolescents are age, school dropout, economic situation, lack of information on sex education and lack of a life project.
