Sleep disorders are a problem in mental health, which are related to various chronic diseases. There are various factors such as personality traits, which are linked to sleep difficulties, influencing the quality of it. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between personality and sleep quality in students at the dentistry school of a Chiclayo university. For this, a non-experimental design of the correlational type was used. We worked with a non-probabilistic sample of 132 students of legal age to whom the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ-RS) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were applied. The results show a negative correlation between extraversion and the Pittsburgh index score, as well as a positive correlation between neuroticism and the sleep scale score. No correlation was observed with the trait psychoticism. It is concluded that the traits of extroversion and neuroticism are significantly associated with sleep quality. Finally, it is recommended to expand the research with new study questions.
