Public institutions in recent years, have tende to face significant challenges in their activities. Likewise, on the employee's side, they will need to develop certain capacities linked to their way of thinking and acting, which will lead them to enhance the development of their work activities. Therefore, the relationship between both parties and their perception of each other is of vital importance, so that both can fulfil the organisational objectives set. The objective of the research was therefore to determine the relationship between perceived organisational support and work commitment, using a quantitative, basic, cross-sectional and relational approach. The sample consisted of 195 administrative workers. The results obtained showed a significant and positive relationship between perceived organisational support and work engagement, as well as a significant positive correlation between the dimensions of work engagement, vigour and absorption, and perceived organisational support. On the other hand, no evidence of correlation was found between the dedication dimension and perceived organisational support. These findings reflect that when employees perceive positive behaviours or actions by the organisation, they will develop an optimal level in their activities, with concentration and completion of activities as the main factors.
