This research project will contribute to existing knowledge and practice on biosafety measures in the field of nursing in critical areas. Objective: Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice of biosafety measures in nurses in critical areas of a Hospital in Chiclayo, 2023. The material and method used to carry out this study will consist of a quantitative non-design approach. experimental, descriptive and relational. The population was represented by 161 nurses from critical areas at the Lambayeque Regional Hospital in Chiclayo. The sample size was 114 nurses, that sample was census. The information collected will be processed in the Microsoft Excel program, IMS SPSS version 25 and the Chi square statistical test were implemented. Results: The level of knowledge of nurses in critical areas regarding biosafety measures was high at 47.7%, medium at 51.8%, and low at only 0.9%. Likewise, regarding the level of practice, 72.8% of nurses in critical areas have a high level, while 27.2% have a medium level. Finally, the Chi square statistical test was applied to evaluate hypotheses about the relationship between two categorical variables, obtaining a value of 2.98 that supports the relationship between the level of knowledge and the level of practice on biosafety measures by the area nurses. critics. Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the practice of biosafety measures in nurses in critical areas.
