The study addresses the current problem of the lack of effective leaders who can promote a positive and productive work environment, this decreases the company's profits, which is why a part of the social capital was affected. Therefore, it was convenient to carry out this research with the main objective of determining the effect of leadership on the social capital of employees in a company in the industrial sector of Chiclayo, 2023. For the methodology, the quantitative approach was used, at an explanatory level. and with a non-experimental design. The Carrie and Frits (2006) questionnaire for social capital and Bass and Avolio (2004) for the leadership variable was implemented as a collection instrument and a sample made up of 171 employees. The findings obtained demonstrated that there is a positive association between the study variables, specifying that leadership positively affects the social capital of workers. On the other hand, in relation to the dimensions, it was evident that transformational and transactional leadership maintained an optimal and significant influence regarding social capital. Concluding that, leadership together with its transformational and transactional styles have caused an important impact on social capital, while laissez-faire leadership does not present a strong influence on social capital; Furthermore, the results help to implement effective strategies to improve the social capital of employees, which will result in greater organizational performance and the achievement of business objectives.
