Insufficient physical activity is one of the risk factors for developing metabolic diseases. Likewise, people who have established physical activity habits have a better biological profile to deal with health problems. The study was of a qualitative type, descriptive design, whose objective was to analyze the barriers and facilitators of physical activity in nursing students of the VIII cycle, from a private university in Chiclayo, 2023. The study population was 65 students enrolled in the VIII cycle in the 2023-II semester of the School of Nursing; The sample was determined by saturation and redundancy, non-probabilistic sampling, for convenience, obtaining 15 participants; The semi-structure interview was used to collect data. The data were examined through content analysis and criteria of ethical and scientific rigor were met. Results: Physical activity barriers: Lack of resources, absence of external support and physical and attitude limitations. Facilitators of physical activity: Availability of means, motivation, support from the environment and knowledge of the benefits for health care and aesthetics. Conclusions: Regarding barriers, the students revealed the factor of lack of time related to academic load, absence of economic resources and sports infrastructure, also the lack of support and motivation, added to this laziness and fatigue. Regarding the facilitators, they mentioned having an organized schedule, having financial means and infrastructure available, as well as motivation from the environment, added to their own motivation to be healthy and look aesthetically good.
