This secondary research was addressed with the following secondary research question: WHAT FACTORS CONTRIBUTE TO STRESS IN THE NURSING PERSONNEL IN THE EMERGENCY SERVICE? The objective was to identify these factors. To carry out the study, the Evidence Based Nursing methodology was used and search engines such as BVS, Scielo, the Virtual Health Library, Google Scholar and PubMed were used. Of the eigth potential investigations reviewed, only two met Gálvez Toro's criteria for apparent validity. The studies were found in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Arabic, and key terms such as stress, factors, nurses and emergency were used. The reviewed investigations include “Job Stress in Nurses and Prehospital Emergency Personnel: Application of the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) Method”, a qualitative cross-sectional study. The methodological evaluation was performed using the CASPE checklist. In response to the research question, it was concluded that the main stressors for nurses were related to the lack of compatibility between work schedules and living conditions, as well as criticism from supervisors. The most common stressors were caring for critically ill patients and the high number of missions.
