In recent years, new media have been increased, making the way people communicate to change, especially adolescents who are submerged in technology, so they are the ones that are the risk of having an excessive use of social networks that over time can be turned on. The present investigation aims to determine the level of addiction to social networks in students of a Public Educational Institution, Chiclayo, 2023. Following the guidelines of a non experimental design that is used in a transversal and of a descriptive manner. Students of 80 students from the secondary school of the second year of both sexes participated in study. For the measurement of the variable, it was made use of the questionnaire of addiction to social networks (ARS) built and validated by drafts and salaries (2014), which allowed to evaluate 3 dimensions, obsession to social networks, the lack of personal control in the use of social networks and the excessive use of social networks. As results, similar percentages were found for the three levels of advice on social networks in students. It is concluded that there are no significant differences in the levels of addiction to social networks in the students.
