The aging of the population, coupled with the need to ensure the sustainability of pension systems, has made the labor market insertion of older adults an issue of great social and economic importance. The older adult population in Peru faces significant challenges in seeking to remain active in the labor market, often facing stereotypes, age discrimination and obstacles to finding adequate job opportunities. The objective is to address the challenges associated with the labor market insertion of this demographic group, thus encouraging greater participation and contribution of older adults in the labor market. Therefore, an exhaustive review of data and statistics related to the older adult population in Peru and the third category tax was carried out, together with comparative legislation where similar proposals to the one in this research are applied. As a result, a specific additional deduction was proposed, eligibility criteria were defined and the necessary controls and regulations for its implementation were considered. Our proposal presents a clear and concrete vision of how a tax measure can bring positive results, improving the lives of the elderly and contributing to the economic and social growth of the country.
