The present work of research had for objective to determine the risk factors in pregnant with threat of abortion in Obstetrics´ Service of the Hospital II - Tarapoto EsSalud period January - August 2012.The kind of study was quantitative, analytical, and retrospective of transverse cut; with a design of Cases and Controls research. With 1746 patients’ population, of which 210 they were a part of cases, that is those pregnant with threat of abortion; and 1536 they were conformed of the controls, those that didn´t present this complication. During the study it was worked up with compile data. The prevailing results so in controls like in cases were: Age was understood among 20 and 35 years, get - together marital status, grade of superior instruction no university, housewife occupation and urban- residence zone. About the causality association it determined that the principal risk factor to threat of abortion was urinary infection (OR=17,497; IC=2,573 – 24,350). Besides we identified other factors: Physical traumatism (OR=3,263; IC=2,050 – 8,602); inter-pregnant period younger one year (OR=3.066; IC=1,931 – 12,742); inter- pregnant period among one and two years (OR=2,865; IC=1,028 – 9,571); antecedents of three abortions (OR=2,286; IC=1,001- 9,332); and antecedents of more three abortions (OR=2,495; IC=1,361 – 9,674). These results were statistically significant (p<0, 05). We come to the conclusion that urinary infection is one risk factor in order to threat of abortion, with it we confirm the study hypothesis. We recommend to all personal that form part of the integral attention of the pregnant, put major attention in the identification of risk factors that it could take to that they encounter complications, affecting the development of the pregnant and putting in danger the continuity themselves.
