In our region and throughout the country there is much informality in the execution of houses of confined masonry, this is mostly due to a poor structural design and lack of criteria of the builders therefore this work aims to make a design that serves future professionals as a reference in the development of projects of this type. In this work, the problem will be solved by applying the best way to perform the analysis and structural design of a confined masonry building that is optimal and economical according to the guidelines of the Technical Standard of Buildings E.070 in conjunction with the other current standards of structures. For the analysis of the building that was designed followed a methodology that begins with the structuring where a distribution was sought to ensure adequate rigidity in both directions to control lateral displacements and avoid twisting problems, together with the use of lintels and beams in the area corresponding to the staircase. Once the above was defined, the main structural elements (solid slabs, beams, columns, masonry walls) were pre-dimensioned, following the criteria and recommendations of the structural design books used in this thesis and Standard E.070 of Masonry. Then, the vertical load measurement for the seismic analysis was carried out, complying with the stipulations of the E.020 and E.030 standards of Loads and of Resistant Earthquake Design, respectively. Once the total weight of the building is obtained, the seismic force at the base of the building will be calculated. The seismic force is a function of the building's purpose. The seismic force is not concentrated in a single point but is distributed in relation to the building levels, in our case 04 levels. In each level, the seismic force is distributed in the structural elements of the superstructure. After designing the masonry bearing walls according to Standard E.070 and other structural elements were designed in accordance with the Standard E.060 Armed, finally the foundation will be designed taking into account the E.050 Standard of soils and foundations.
