A descriptive basic research study was carried out at the Hospital No. 02 Yarinacocha-Ucayali, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics during the period between the 1st and 2nd. From October 1,993 to September 30, 1994, where a total of 1084 births were attended, of which 304 were adolescents between 12 and 19 years old, which in frequency represents 28.04% of the total number of births. The predominant frequency was in patients 17 to 19 years of age, which is 73.03%. 51.64% come from the urban area, have a stable union 80.99%, 100% received some degree of instruction, 89.47% are engaged in housework; Did not have prenatal care 39.80%, most attended the hospital for their first experience of delivery 81.58% and with a gestational age at term, the highest percentage came in latent and active phase of labor to delivery 36.18% respectively; I conclude the delivery in cesarean section 6.25%. The funicular dystocia was 61.84%, followed by presentation-situation dystocia that was 30.27, the most prominent complication in labor was toxemia 20.27% followed by SFA 13.51%, hypodinamia, maternal depletion and stationary dilatation 6.76% respectively. On the other hand, the most frequent postpartum complication was the thermal rise 15.74% followed by tears 13.88%; 10.18% urinary infection and postpartum haemorrhage 5.56% among others. Data for the newborn were as follows: adequate weight 92.48%, B.P.N. 5.56% and macrosomic 1.96%; 54.58% were male and 45.42% female. Regarding APGAR, 96.40% had good APGAR and between moderate and severe asphyxia, respectively, 2.29%, with only four cases of fetal death being 1.31%. As we see the negative effects of gestation at very early ages on the mother and the child have been established in several reports; Let's not forget that pregnancy in adolescents also represents a syndrome of emotional and social frustration, which is often not desired, so it is necessary to focus on psychological and socioeconomic problems to provide support from health services
