The study of Clinical and Epidemiological Characteristics of the Newborn with Low Birth-Weight in the Neonatology Service of the Santa Gema Hospital - Yurimaguas in the Period 2015 to 2018, aimed at determining the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of the newborn with low birth-weight in the neonatology service of the Santa Gema Hospital- Yurimaguas in the Period 2015-2018. The type of research was non-experimental, quantitative descriptive cross-sectional. The population and sample was non-random and consisted of 101 cases of RNBPN. The technique selected for this research was the survey and the questionnaire was the selected instrument. The results showed that the maternal age predominates in the range of 15 to 35 years with 52%, followed by > 35 years with 32% and <15 years 16%. In relation to their marital status, 84% live together but are not married, 10% single and married only 6%. According to the educational level, they had secondary education 42%, primary education 37%, and university higher education 10%, non-university education 5%, and there was a 6%, who declared to be illiterate. Regarding harmful habits, 82% declared not to have them, while 18% said yes. The parity is 45% Primiparous, Segundipara 42%, multiparous 10%, and large multiparous 3%, a history of low birth-weight 30% said yes, and 70% said no. The number of prenatal care presented cases with <6 controls 52%, with> = 6 controls 38%, on obstetric history, had Urinary Infection 57%, Anemia 30%, Gestational Diabetes 5%, Oligoamnios 4% , RPM> 18 hours 3%, and Chorioamnionitis 1%. In the Birth Record, there was 90% of birth-weight <2,500 grams, 10% of weight <1,000 grams. In the Gestational Age, there was 74% of <37 weeks, 25% of <32 weeks, and <28 weeks 1%. The Type of Gestation was Unique in 96%, and Twin in 4%. The percentage of Birth Type was Vaginal (61%) and Cesarean (39%).
