The objective of the present research was to determine the relationship between the level of self-esteem and coping in patients with HIV/AIDS of the highly active antiretroviral treatment program (HAART) of the Santa Gema-Yurimaguas Hospital. Year, 2022. For this purpose, a basic substantive research was carried out, with a non-experimental, descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of a total of 50 patients with HIV/AIDS in the highly active antiretroviral treatment program (HAART) of the Santa Gema-Yurimaguas Hospital. The instruments used for data collection were questionnaires. The main result is that 66% of patients with HIV/AIDS of the Highly Active Antiretroviral Treatment Program (HAART) of the Santa Gema-Yurimaguas Hospital have a medium-high level of self-esteem, of which 64% have a medium level of coping and 2% a high level, while 16% of patients who have a medium-low level of self-esteem, all of them have a low level of coping. It is concluded that, with a p value of 0.000 and an r value of 0.696, there is a relationship between the level of self-esteem and coping in patients with HIV/AIDS of the Highly Active Antiretroviral Treatment Program (HAART) of the Santa Gema-Yurimaguas Hospital.
