The purpose of this research is to evaluate the alternatives that the courts have been implementing in order to reduce the time in the resolution of processes, among them, are the good judicial practices. In view of this, the main problem of this research work was the question: What is the relationship between good judicial practices and procedural speed in the custody proceedings in the Second Family Court of Tarapoto, period 2021-2022? The general objective was to establish the relationship between good judicial practices and procedural speed in the custody proceedings of the Second Family Court of Tarapoto, period 2021-2022, and the specific objectives were: i) to determine the level of application of good judicial practices in the custody proceedings of the Second Family Court of Tarapoto, period 2021-2022; ii) to determine the actual duration of the custody proceedings followed by the Second Family Court of Tarapoto, during the period 2021-2022. The research was conducted in the Second Family Court, belonging to the Superior Court of Justice of San Martin, geographically located in the District of Tarapoto. The research covers the period from August 2021 to December 2022, the methodology used was basic, with a descriptive correlational level, non-experimental - cross-sectional design, using the documentary analysis guide as an instrument, applied to 35 files on custody resolved with a sentence, during August 2021 to December 2022. The data were processed through descriptive statistics, using a frequency table in SPSS, to establish frequencies and percentages. In addition, bar graphs were used to analyze the behavior of the variables and Spearman's correlation test (Rho) was used to test the hypothesis. The results show that the level of application of best practices in custody proceedings in the Second Family Court of Tarapoto was regular; its duration was 3 months or more and it was determined that there is no relationship between best judicial practices and procedural speed; therefore, the null hypothesis is accepted and the general hypothesis is rejected.
