The influence of three planting densities on the yield of the purple lettuce crop (Lactuca sativa L.) Black Rose variety, in the province of Lamas, was evaluated. To achieve these objectives, it was planned to evaluate the variety of purple lettuce, using an experimental research design., using the Completely Randomized Block Design (DBCA), with four blocks and four treatments. The treatments studied were: T1 (Planting density 0.1m between plants and 0.2m between rows), T2 (Planting density 0.3m between plants and 0.2m between rows), T3 (Planting density 0.4m between plant and 0.2 m between rows), T0 (Planting density 0.2 m between plants and 0.2 m between rows of the Grand Rapids Walderman's Strain variety). The indicators used were: plant height (cm), stem base diameter (cm), number of leaves, weight per plant (g), yield (kg.ha-1) and economic analysis. The results obtained indicate that with the best spacing between 10cm between plants and 20cm between rows, the highest averages were obtained in performance indicators, head weight, head diameter, plant height and benefit/cost ratio (B /C) with 0.70 kg.ha-1, 0.17 kg, and lower gain of -0.21 and -0.31 respectively.
