The general objective of the study was to determine the relationship between beliefs and attitudes of people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in the periodical medical care unit (UAMP) of Morales Health Center, period November 2015 to October 2016, using the quantitative, non-experimental method of correlational descriptive design. The population was selected using intentional non-probability sampling for convenience, with 34 people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS positive as the study sample. The technique used in the present study was the survey, and the data collection instrument applied was the questionnaire. The results with the highest frequency of response within the sociodemographic profile of persons diagnosed with HIV/AIDS positive were: male gender (100%), 18 - 27 years with 65%, urban domicile with 70%, 4 to 5 sexual partners (35%) and more than 6 sexual partners (35%), secondary education (52%), passive homosexual (52%). Fifty-nine per cent identified the beliefs of persons diagnosed with HIV/AIDS as true, while 64 per cent considered the attitudes of persons diagnosed with HIV/AIDS to be adequate. In coclusion there is a significant relationship between beliefs and attitudes of people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in the periodic medical care unit (UAMP) of the Health Center - Morales, period November 2015 to October 2016, based on the statistic Chi-square of Pearson (X2=16,053) and with 4 degrees of freedom and security level of 95% (α =0.05) the Chi tabular is 9,488; corroborating that both variables are dependent.
