The following thesis project titled as "Hydraulic Design of the Drinking Water Supply System to Improve the Quality of Life in the Pointed Center of La Marginal, Cuñumbuqui district, San Martin, 2018", was elaborated and developed in the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the National University of San Martin - Tarapoto. The study arises from the need of the Populated Center of La Marginal, to solve the different problems caused by water supply deficiency, both in quality and quantity. These problems generate the spread of many infectious diseases, thus decreasing the quality of life of the inhabitants. This research project is aimed at solving the problems by first conducting a real and quantitative diagnosis of the locality in terms of the quality and scarcity of drinking water, so that it is suitable for human consumption. A hydraulic design of a potable water supply system was elaborated, in addition to a treatment and periodic control based on results obtained from the physical-chemical, bacteriological (water source) analysis as well as its use of the collection point. The hydraulic design of the drinking water supply system is based on hydraulics calculations, complemented in classrooms; topographic studies for the surface of the system and the mechanics of fluids that establish the fixed and important parameter that is the total beneficiary population. With this parameter, the approximate design flow required to satisfy the population's consumption was determined. A simulation of the system was carried out with the WaterCAD V8i program, where the operation is verified and the most optimal and satisfactory results obtained. The following components were developed for the drinking water supply system: collection, treatment plant (sedimentation and slow filter), line of conduction, reservoir, adduction line, distribution networks, household connections, in such a way to contribute to the development of the quality of life, therefore, socio-economic of the Populated Center of La Marginal, and put into practice what has been learned and professional development in the career of civil engineering.
