Quality of honeys and propolis from stingless bees (meliponini) in response to genetic and environmental factors in San Martin. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the morphological characteristics of the main stingless bee morphospecies, to compare the quality characteristics of Tetragonisca sp. honeys, to evaluate the antibiotic capacity of Scaptotrigona sp. propolis, and to record the ecosystemic and sanitary management factors that influence the quality of stingless bee (Meliponini) honeys and propolis in five localities of the San Martin region. The morphological characters of Tetragonisca sp, indicated a body length of 5.5 mm and coloration between dark brown and caramel, for Scaptotrigona sp, the body length reached 7 mm and a black coloration of the integument, both species evaluated in the different localities did not show differences, on the contrary, they were within the characteristics mentioned by the reference. The quality characteristics of the honeys of Tetragonisca sp. reported in Yantaló a light amber honey, in Utcurarca, Centro Urku (Tarapoto) and San Roque, extra light, and in San Jose de Sisa, amber; in terms of °Brix, San Jose de Sisa had a lower concentration of total solids (72.03 °Brix) and in Utcurarca a higher concentration (75.13 °Brix); the average pH among all the samples reached a value of 3.71, with the most acidic honey coming from the Urku Center (Tarapoto); the EC reached an average of 1 055.27 μs/cm. The microbiological quality of the samples from Utcurarca, San Roque and Yantalo were found to be below the maximum permissible limits for mesophilic aerobes (103 cfu/g); meanwhile, the antibiotic capacity of propolis from Scaptotrigona sp. showed Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values above (216.81, 328.99 and 348.60 mg/mL) of those reported by the authors, while the inhibitory concentration of E. coli (13.55, 20.56 and 21.788 mg/mL) in the sample showed similarity with the reference. In terms of ecosystem factors in sanitary management, the Urku meliponary showed less contamination from the use of chemical pesticides, and no dangerous pollutants were found in the five meliponaries under study.
