The objective of this research work was to: Determine the attitude of the Nursing Interns towards the care of the Elderly, during their rotation of the Internship. Professional Nursing School of the National University of San Martín Tarapoto. January to June 2019, the study was quantitative, applicative, descriptive of a transversal cohort, the sample consisted of 32 nursing interns from the National University of San Martín-Tarapoto, using the interview as a technique and as a questionnaire as instruments. Results: In the cognitive dimension, 34.4% of Nursing inmates presented a rejection attitude with moderate intensity. According to the familiarity factor, 12.5% of Nursing inmates responded that knowing the biological changes in the elderly is a “quite complex” process; in the evaluation factor 9.4% responded that these changes are a “rather unpleasant” process for the elderly; in the power factor 6.3% responded that they find it "quite" difficult "to meet the different biological needs of each older adult. And, finally, in the action factor 12.5% of the study population responded that they show a “quite cheerful” attitude towards the care of the elderly. According to the affective dimension, 37.5% of Nursing Interns presented a rejection attitude with moderate intensity. According to the familiarity factor, 21.9% responded that they think that “very common” is the affective changes that arise in the elderly. In the behavioral dimension, 93.8% of Nursing Interns presented an attitude of acceptance with moderate intensity. According to the familiarity factor, 28.1% responded that they find it “quite common” the social changes that arise in the aging process of the elderly; in the evaluation factor 21.9% responded that they find it “quite pleasant” to be able to provide an active sociofamiliar circle to the elderly; in the power factor 18.8% responded that they show an attitude of “enough interest” so that the older adult does not feel unimportant or unprotected. Concluding that the attitude of Nursing Interns towards the care of the elderly was of acceptance with moderate intensity 31.3% (10), later, 21.9% (7) presents a rejection attitude with moderate intensity, 18.8% (6) have an attitude of acceptance with mild intensity, 12.5% (4) presented an attitude of acceptance with strong intensity. 9.4% (3) presented a rejection attitude with mild intensity and 6.3% (2) presented a rejection attitude with strong intensity.
