Determination and quantification of glyphosate and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid in leaves and beans of cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) in the area of Villa Prado, district of Juanjuí, province of Mariscal Cáceres, San Martín Region. The presence of pesticides in food at unacceptable concentrations has an adverse effect on human health. Considering cocoa as a representative and export crop of the San Martin Region, this research was carried out to determine and quantify glyphosate and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid molecules in dried fermented cocoa leaves and beans in the area of Villa Prado, district of Juanjuí, province of Mariscal Cáceres, as well as to determine their geo-referencing. For this purpose, 10 cocoa plots were selected from which samples were extracted and analyzed by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) developed in triplicate for each sample. The averages were compared using Tukey's test at 5%. The average concentrations of glyphosate found in cocoa leaves were between 0.0232 ppm and 0.1220 ppm and concentrations of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid between 0.0388 ppm and 0.1648 ppm, obtaining non-quantifiable values in 03 plots. Glyphosate values in dry fermented cocoa beans ranged from 0.0392 ppm to 0.3751 ppm and 2,4-D values ranged from 0.0086 ppm to 0.4624 ppm, obtaining non-quantifiable values in two and one plot, respectively. It was determined that there are significant differences (p<0.05) between the concentrations of glyphosate and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid in leaves and dry fermented cocoa beans cultivated in the Villa Prado area. It is concluded that the values of glyphosate and 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid found in cocoa leaves and beans exceed the Maximum Residue Limits established by NTS No 128-2016/MINSA/DIGESA which is 0.1 ppm for these analytes.
