The research analyzes the relationship of the value chain and the competitive advantage of table water processing companies in the districts of Tarapoto, Morales and La Banda de Shilcayo in the province of San Martín. The study sample consisted of 14 companies to which a questionnaire on value chain adapted from Michael Porter with 173 questions was applied, where 72% correspond to closed questions and 28% to open questions, this in order to obtain information on the primary and secondary activities of the value chain and after a weighting and contrast, competitive advantages in leadership in costs and differentiation were obtained. Spearman's rho correlation was also used, whose results between the analysis of the value chain parameters (primary and secondary activities) and the competitive advantages, were found to be positive of the medium or moderate type (0,312 and 0,352). Thus, the value chain analysis had a direct relationship on the competitive advantages of table water processing companies in the districts of Tarapoto, Morales and La Banda de Shilcayo. Finally, business development strategies such as market penetration, product development, market development and cost leadership in the value chain were proposed to improve competitive advantages, as well as achieve goals such as being leaders in the market, projecting to society as reliable, innovative companies, referents in high quality at a low price, with increases in sales and improved profits.
