Asthma is a chronic disease that affects the welfare of the patient, especially if they are school-age children in whom is characteristic the dynamism in their daily activities like games, and these important social spaces for their development are interrupted by the disease. However, the impact causes asthma in children is variable because the physical changes of their age and cognitive development that influences the perception of their disease. To assess the quality of life in chronic diseases such as asthma is more important especially if a child, as the increase in life expectancy. However, often this is not accompanied by acceptable bio-psychosocial conditions that allow the child especially if the school-age, enjoy good emotional, as well as performing physical activities, social and school. Methodology: A descriptive study correlational cross-sectional sample of 75 schools from 8 to 12 years diagnosed with asthma of four educational institutions in the district of Tarapoto, which responded to the questionnaire of quality of life (PedsQL. Version 4.0) including the physical, emotional, social and school. Results: Of the 75 schools in the sample, the average age was10 + / - 1.43 years and 69% were at primary level, 53.3% were female, and the most common type of asthma was intermittent. We found a Media Quality of Life for the sample and the dimension was the dimension most affected schools. We found lower quality of life in students with moderate to severe asthma (p> 0.5), no relationship was found between gender and disease duration with the quality of life. Talk: ISAAC report for Peru reported a higher prevalence of asthma at age 10 + / - 1.4 Years and a higher prevalence in males. Asthma affects all dimensions of quality of life, but we found the greatest impact on school size, such as missing school by illness, failure in home works, problems in attention, confirming multiple jobs, that show lower school performance in children with asthma also we found relationship between current asthma and reduced quality of life. Conclusions: It found media quality of life in school students 8 to 12 years with asthma in Tarapoto district. Was the dimension most affected school and relationship between current asthma and reduced quality of life.
