The objective of this descriptive study was to compile bibliographic information on the control of cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) diseases in the province of Mariscal de Cáceres, San Martín region, for the year 2022. Regarding the methodology, the study was descriptive and exploratory, using reliable sources and bibliographic antecedents of the last 5 years. The main methods of disease control and the costs generated by their implementation were analyzed and determined for the main diseases that generate economic damage. The main five diseases of cocoa crop (Theobroma cacao L.) in the province of Mariscal Cáceres are moniliasis, witches' broom, anthracnose, Ceratocystis wilt (mal del machete) and brown pod rot, whose control is integrated management, cultural control with pruning and removal of fruits, biological application of Trichoderma hartropus 3 L/h-1, chemical as azoxystrobin + difeconazole 250ml/ h-1and genetic with resistant clones as CCN-51, ICSs. All these methods are very important to prevent and control these diseases present in this crop. Cocoa disease control costs (Theobroma cacao L.), amount to s/ 6,683.60, generating a yield of 1.2 t/ h-1 at a selling price of s/ 7.80, generating a B/C of 1.4, which means that for each sol invested, 0.40 cents is earned, generating a profitability of 40.04%. Furthermore, in the last 5 years the number of producers has remained unchanged at 4,382, in the year 2022 the number of hectares installed has decreased by 2.38% compared to 2018, however the yield increased to an average of 1 t/ h-1 and in 2021 the sale price was the highest reaching s/ 8.10.
