The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between complementary feeding and nutritional status in infants aged 6 to 12 months at the Punta del Este Health Center, Tarapoto. Period July - December 2021. The study had a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive-correlational, cross-sectional approach, the sample consisted of 100 mothers of infants from 6 to 12 months old, and the instrument used was a questionnaire. The results obtained regarding the sociodemographic characteristics showed that 61% of the mothers of infants were between 21 and 40 years old, the second largest group were mothers under 20 years old, representing 37% of the sample, followed by 2% of mothers aged 41 years and older. The 85% of mothers of infants between 6 to 12 months come from the jungle, however, there was a group of 9% that came from the coast and 6% from the highlands. As for the mothers' level of education, 65% of them have only completed secondary school, 14% have only higher education, 12% have primary education, 9% have no education. A 55% of the mothers are engaged in housework, 23% do dependent work and 22% do independent work. A total of 49% of mothers of infants between 6 and 12 months old are single mothers, followed by 34% who are cohabitants, in third place are married mothers with a total of 12%, and 5% are widowed. According to the characteristics of complementary feeding, 65% initiate complementary feeding of their children between 6 to 8 months old, 27.0% initiate it earlier, 8% initiate it later. The type of food they receive is of vegetable origin (75%), followed by animal origin (25%). A 69% of the infants receive an adequate amount of food, and 31% are inadequate. The frequency with which the infants under study are fed is adequate (81%) and 19% are inadequate. Eighty-nine percent indicated that the complementary feeding provided to the infants was consistent and 11% were not consistent. Regarding nutritional status, 89% had a normal nutritional status, 8% of the infants who participated in the study were acutely malnourished and 3% were overweight. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between complementary feeding and the nutritional status of infants between 6 and 12 months old, so the hypothesis is accepted.
