The present study aimed to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and school social climate in secondary-level students of School No. 0815 of Carrizal, 2011. The sample consisted of 71 students from first to fifth grade, these students developed the data collection instruments. The research was basic, descriptive level, non-experimental research design, transactional correlational. The instruments used were the emotional intelligence inventory and the inventory of school social climate. According to the results, the relationship between emotional intelligence and social climate at school is significant in secondary-level students of School No. 0815 of Carrizal, 2011, calculated with t (tc: 22.88) than at tabulated (tt: 1,997), 5% significance level and degrees of freedom (n - 2). The highest percentage of students have low emotional intelligence and its dimensions, represented by 43.66% in emotional intelligence, in self-40.85%, 49.30% in the self, the 43.66% in motivation The 42.25% in 47.89% empathy and social skills. The highest percentage of students represented by 39.44% perceive the school social climate of School No. 00815 of Carrizal at a low level, 42.25% perceived relations in an average, the 42.25% perceived low personal development, 43.66% believe that the stability is low level and 42.25%, perceive change system at a low level. The strong positive correlation (γ: 0.92) between emotional intelligence and school social climate, this coefficient is significant at the 0.01 level of probability of error, with p <0.01, according to γ ^ 2 (0.85) Emotional Intelligence explains the 85% school social climate, as well as school social climate explained 85% to emotional intelligence
